The Orbit Desk provides observational intelligence on physical infrastructure — energy terminals, refineries, storage, maritime flows and comparable assets — derived from satellite imagery and publicly available data. Our reports describe what is observed on the ground and how it compares to what has been announced. They are factual and analytical in nature.

We do not advise on financial instruments and express no view on their price or suitability. The Orbit Desk is independent. We hold no positions in the assets we observe, and we have no reseller or commission relationship with the satellite-data providers whose imagery we use. Our conclusions are our own and are not directed by any third party.

Accuracy and limitations

Our readings are derived from remote-sensing data and are inherently subject to limitations of resolution, revisit frequency, cloud cover, sensor conditions, and interpretation. We produce them on a best-effort basis and believe them reasonable at the time of publication, but we make no warranty, express or implied, as to their accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose. Observations may be revised as new data becomes available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Orbit Desk accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on our reports.

05—Data sources and attribution

Data sources and attribution

Our analysis uses Copernicus Sentinel data — it contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data, courtesy of the European Union and the European Space Agency — together with OpenStreetMap and other public operational, regulatory, and news sources. Where third-party data carries its own licensing terms, those terms govern that data.

The reports, imagery treatments, methods, and written analysis produced by The Orbit Desk are its property and are provided for the recipient's own use. They may not be redistributed, resold, or republished without written permission.
